The OSOF Charitable Trust recognises the value of scientific research in contributing to, and advancing, the collective understanding of our coastal and marine ecosystems. One of OSOF’s core objectives is to assist in, promote, support and carry out scientific research on coastal and marine environments. We understand that key to good research outcomes is an enquiring mind, the love of the natural environment, but also recognition of achievements, and funding to enable research excellence. The scholarships and awards that OSOF currently offers are listed below:
OSOF postgraduate Student Research Scholarship
Applications open 1st May and close 15th July annually
OSOF has established a contestable research grant for New Zealand based postgraduate students undertaking research in the areas of Marine Science related to any of our core brands: Fisheries (SSN), Pollution (PFNZ), Marine Protected Areas (MMR), or Climate Change (CAN). This scholarship is offered annually with up to NZ$2500 to support Masters or PhD level research. Applications close 5pm on 15th July and the successful recipients will be notified within one month of the closing date.
